WHAT'S A DAISY CUTTER?

The BLU-82 ‘Daisy Cutter’ is a nasty bomb. Until the recent creation of the MOAB (aka the Mother of all Bombs), the Daisy Cutter was the largest non-nuclear piece of ordinance used by the military. It is rated at 15,000 pounds of TNT. Besides its rather heavy-duty physical and psychological effects (it creates a small mushroom cloud), the Daisy Cutter was rather handy in Vietnam as an instant creator of helicopter landing zones - as it knocked down every tree for hundreds of yards.

Why did we name the band after this frightening weapon?

In the same vein as U2, the collaborative Daisy Cutter outlook is patently anti-war and set against the military-industrial complex. It’s ironic. Take the name from your enemy and use it against them. So we’re ironically named after the ironic nickname of a huge bomb first actively used in the last giant American imperial debacle - Vietnam. Got it?
